Practise In Game Speed

Basketball is a game of speed, agility, fitness and decision making...Practise is the mantra to success in the game...One of the common mistakes that happen is that we often fail to realise the importance of practise...That too noy just static practise but dynamic practise in game speed...Practise in game speed serves a lot in many aspects.

It helps in improving fitness of the players...Games are won by teams that can play the whole game with full fitness...Skill without fitness is of no much use in this game.

It trains the players to make decisions during game speed...Often teams fail to break or stumble during full court press just because they make the wrong decisions...Decision making is very important for success...Right decision at right time can win matches.

It is very important that jump shooters train their of the screen shots and jump shots in game speed....it enhances their vertical jump and balance during jump shots...It also trains them to make good use of their fakes...Players should be careful about their release during fast jump shots...game speed shots require slight adjustment...This can gauged only while practising in game speed.

Practising in game speed also develops ball handling skills..It enhances the need of all players to be able to handle the ball well during game speed...A team with good ball handlers always have a better chance of victory.

Practising set offensive moves in game speed is very important...This helps in better execution of these moves in game. This also increases the instinctivness of players to screen and cut during game situations...This also defines the role of each player in a team.

Practising set defensive moves such as full court and half court press, zones and various traps in game speed helps in increasing defensive agility and also increases the help defence factor. This also helps from the other side that the offence gets used to these defenses and train to break them.

Finally."Everybody likes to win...but very few like to practise to win"..
